Ordinary People
What you are about to read mentions NOT the politics or the policies…only the personality and the person. Again, extreme Narcissists come clad in all colors: blue, red, black and white. And my hope is that through the transparency of my writing, the reader may consider something that they’ve never thought about…or just read words that have been flitting about their own minds. I am no authority. In my writing, I draw from personal experience and quite a bit of reading and research on the topic at hand.
Okay. So yesterday I wrote about my interpretation of the siege. Short and not so sweet, it was not only my interpretation of the previous day, but of much of the presidency…and for that matter, any of the many times I have heard accounts of His more concerning actions or heard many of His more concerning words.
I capitalize that pronoun because I want to make a point. If you have ever questioned if He considers himself supreme enough to warrant capitalization of His own pronoun…let me attempt to answer that question. Personally capitalizing on just about any situation or privilege is not only the intention of extreme Narcissists, but a regular practice and primal strategy. They are fed by each successful attempt, and the more that they avoid any direct accountability, the more empowered and endowed they become. It’s a process, like any other, where their disorder flourishes within and their attempts to control and manipulate become more flagrant in nature.
Two days ago, was the Capitalization of His Divine Right. That’s how he sees it. We saw, as a country that he sees himself worthy of a mob’s loyalty, so much so, that they will unlawfully throw themselves into the line of fire for him…believing that they have strapped the suicide vest on for some kind of “principle”. And yes, of course, if they would have been of any other color, they would have been slaughtered in the name of law and order.
It’s very possible that the members of the mob will be held accountable and that they will be prosecuted and even incarcerated for a number of years. That’s because there is RECORD of their actions. That’s because we can prove that they went too far. And likely, some of them will show no remorse and still mentally, emotionally, and physically stand behind their president.
Sure, that sucks, but THIS is what happens when individuals, and so help me God, communities and nations are subjects of psychological warfare…where they have been brainwashed and manipulated, subtly and consistently, and have absolutely no idea that it is occurring.
When that happens, who is to blame for the actions of the Followers? Who is to be held accountable?
Well, I gotta tell you from experience, that the Narcissist isn’t usually the one who PAYS. They have often spent years and years honing their skills, understanding how to control others and in the end, have already weaseled out of most kinds of accountability. Their hands are usually clean legally, and that’s all been by design. They use “the flying monkeys” for these actions. Yes. That’s the psychological term.
In his speech before the siege, he told them that he would walk WITH the Protestors? But did that occur? Of COURSE not. He ain’t stupid, folks. Quite the opposite. He’s quite skilled. A smart and talented Malignant Narcissist is something to behold, for sure. The problem is that our level of amazement must be matched with the same level of fear.
I’ve done a lot of research on how to understand a Narcissist and even how to defend yourself against one, and I wonder if you know just how many court cases have ever proved psychological abuse. You wonder? Very, very few. The field of research and knowledge is ever-growing, but to be honest, society is just trying to catch up with the abusers themselves. Court cases are rare, and the ability to prove ill intent is difficult at best. If he would have walked WITH the protestors, he would have been culpable, right? We would have had evidence.
When do we see these extreme Narcissists fall? Only when stunning events occur and enough has finally happened in order for their control to be obvious and their strategies to be revealed and examined by outsiders and when Followers finally begin to rescind their support.
When 134 cult followers attempt mass suicide. Or when entire countries commit genocide. Or when we finally realize that in the future, our own President may be the subject of documentaries chronicling yet another story about brainwashing and cult-like control.
Here’s the deal: When people like you and I have watched documentaries about cults and seen and heard intelligent, well-meaning individuals declare loyalty to seemingly INSANE figures of supposed divine authority…we have often been stunned into obvious questioning.
How could they have been so stupid? Why couldn’t they see what WE see? Didn’t they know that their leader was encouraging them down a dark path, and that they were being brainwashed?
Ummm….no. They didn’t. Their respect is first earned and comes from a very rational and genuine place. Loyalty is gradual, but eventually this loyalty becomes unhealthy. In fact, in many cases, it takes years or even decades before they eventually defer all decision-making, mentally, emotionally and then physically, to their perpetrator. Because unfortunately, the Narcissist simply isn’t seen as a perpetrator to THEM. By this time, they have come to live in an altered reality.
So yeah, at the beginning, well-intentioned and good people sometimes find individuals to respect, support, and eventually, follow. But when we, as onlookers, finally see the behavior of the Followers go beyond reasonable and rational limits…we finally see the problem, right?
I hope that more people are seeing it. And I sincerely hope that the media uses educated psychologists to explain why and HOW the acts of January 6th actually occurred. Because without that clarity, we as a nation will miss the opportunity to see what we allowed to happen…that we allowed a disordered individual to have a seat of power, which enabled him to cause immense harm to the American people.
Yesterday, I claimed that he incited the mob. Yep, I believe that, but it will be terribly difficult to prove that in a court of law. Unfortunately, I don’t have too much faith in the ability of our legal system to claim, support and prove this incitation. His public strategies were the kind of strategies that Narcissists always use, but in this case, at least we finally have an extreme result to try to tie the strategic attempts to, so perhaps more people will see the correlation between the strategy and the consequence.
One of the most telling examples is when he told the Followers that he LOVED them and that they were “Special”. Stunning, really. I sincerely encourage his Followers to recognize just how demeaning this statement was. Does he really think people are so needy and child-like that they need his parental and patronizing words of approval?
Um…yes. He does. Because he is not one of US. Rather, he believes he is our superior in every way. It means that he has gotten SO far, that simple psychological suggestions prompt action from some of his Followers.
So, I ask you the Reader. Are you Special? Do you see something in our sitting president that would warrant you to take actions where you could spend a significant portion of your life behind bars? Away from your spouse and children? Is it possible that he’s targeted a certain mentality, in order use them as his Monkeys, tapping into their need to feel principled and Special?
Nope, I don’t think he was talking to me. I ain’t Special. On the contrary, I don’t think I’ve ever been prouder to call myself ordinary.
Indeed. I’m just one of the ordinary people. That’s what the majority of us, regardless of political affiliation, all have in common.
We are ordinary, as compared to someone who deems Himself worthy of cult-like following and acts of violence. I hope we can at least unite in that fact.
